Essendon Pre-VFL/AFL Jumpers

 
1873 - 1876
As with most clubs, players wore Blue jumpers, with socks and caps determining club colours. Essendon wore Black and Red socks and caps
1877 - 1889
Added the sash to distinguish them from other clubs wearing Blue.
1890 - 1896
Changed to the club colours of Black with Red sash when Black jumpers became available
